I first became interested in making furniture in the 1980s when building my own house in upstate New York. Over the next few decades I made a few pieces for family and friends, while pursuing a successful career as a nurse and an epidemiologist. In 2007 I enrolled in a class at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine and began making custom furniture on commission. In June of 2012 I completed the Nine-Month Comprehensive Program at the Center, then spent four months in the school’s Studio Fellowship Program.  I now live and work in Burlington, Vermont.
