The soaring architecture of Gothic cathedrals has been taking people’s breath away since the 12th century. When I travel to Europe my main interest (other than the charming cafés) is visiting cathedrals. Although I go not as a religious pilgrim, the awe these buildings inspire in me is akin to a spiritual experience.
I decided to incorporate the arch and the flying buttress – two of my favorite forms in Gothic cathedrals – into the design of this desk.
